Ryan's first Christmas season is in full swing. Last weekend we put up our tree, which, of course, is surrounded by a baby gate. Since Ryan's favorite hobby is throwing things over all the gates, he ended up hanging the first decoration on the tree when he threw one of his socks over that gate.



This morning Ryan attended his first Christmas party (our neighborhood association's children's Christmas party), where he sat on Santa's lap for the first time. He did (marginally) better than we expected, considering the pretty severe stranger anxiety he's had for the past 2-3 months.














(Ryan's cousins still hold the record for the best Santa picture ever, as I'm sure those of you who have seen their 2006 picture will agree!)






This Tuesday (December 11) will be the 1-year anniversary of Ryan's referral. Being his parents is the best Christmas present ever, and we feel so blessed to have him with us for Christmas this year (and for all the years to come)!
