We received our First Ruling!
Just a quick update to share the big news -- we received our First Ruling today! (It was issued exactly 2 weeks after our hearing.) The wait has been getting really difficult, especially since the hearing occurred, so we're very thankful that the judge ruled so quickly. We should have our Final Ruling by the end of June, and a few weeks after that we'll be going to Taiwan to bring Ryan home!!!

I'm so happy for you. Can't wait to follow your trip to Taiwan to get Ryan! Once the final ruling comes, are you officially his parents or do you have something more to do in Taiwan before he becomes yours forever?

Nothing else is needed in terms of the adoption when we go to Taiwan. When the second ruling is handed down, we become Ryan's parents. We do still have to take care of the immigration issues when we are there.

The final ruling is usually issued 10 days after the first ruling, so your should be getting that travel call soon!!

Congratulations on the first ruling. You should get the final ruling within the next couple of weeks and before you know it you will be holding your son in your arms.
